Recent Projects
MALOYA MOSHPIT is a new work by Punctum in collaboration with Australian-Réunionese choreographer, singer and Maloya expert Muriel Hillion-Toulcanon and assistant artist Carole Katz.

The Maloya’s origins lie in the creolisation of Malagasy, African and Tamil cultures from Réunion Island. In this project we are merging historical and living Creole dance culture with House, Protest Techno and No Wave into a beguiling, participatory, evolutionary hybrid.

THE WAYFINDERS
THE WAYFINDERS is a location triggered audio experience which theatricalises built and natural landscapes using the voices and imaginations of children. In this collaboration with Jess Wilson twhich was premiered at Artplay’s New Ideas Lab in 2021, 4 - 7 year olds were invited to self navigate and tune in to the character of trees, rocks and pathways in a creative journey of anthropomorphizing.

SOUND CAPSULE
Sound Capsule was created in 2021 as part of Artplays New Ideas Lab. In this work Aviva Endean and I worked together with children to create a sound collage, graphic score and sound map informed by the Artplay site at Birrarung Marr. The work will be buried for 100 years for children of the future to discover, experience and hopefully create their own performance with.
THE KULTURE ALL MAKAAN
Kultur-All Makaan is a yurt-like structure that created by Punctum Inc. It was developed in collaboration with Hazara, South Sudanese, Karen, and Anglo-Saxon artists and artisans. Kultur in several northern European languages means “culture” and Makaan in different Persian and African languages means “the dwelling of…” also “food” in Indonesian. Kultur-All Makaan aims to be a place of daily cultural and artistic nourishment with and for all. In this project I have been working with various artists to bring a shared vision of music and improvisation to life in the context of the Makaan.
