MALOYA MECHANIQUE

MALOYA MECHANIQUE is an exploration of maloya music fused with electronic and experimental sounds inspired by the traditional music, rhythms and culture of Reunion Island and the Indian Ocean area. The seeds for this collaboration were sown when I first worked with Murial Hillion - Toulcanon on Punctums Maloya Moshpit in 2022/23.

 

This project explores futuristic themes of technology, AI and its effects on culture, identity and society. The project kicked off in July 2025 with a creative development that was assisted by Regional Arts Victoria.
